The mission of Romanian Children's Relief is to support Romanian children and families in order to prevent abandonment.

Romanian Children's Relief (RCR) has been working in Romania since 1990. During that time, we've seen some dramatic changes in the way abandoned children are cared for in Romania . We're proud to be one of the charities helping making those changes happen - one child at a time.

Romanian Children's Relief and our partner, Fundatia Inocenti, sponsor the professional development and daily work of 22 Romanian staff and more than 100 volunteers serving hundreds of abandoned and at-risk children and children with special needs.

Our award-winning programs include a program for post-institutionalized children called “Su si Familia Mea,” or Me and My Family Together as well as two Hospital Child Life programs and an Early Literacy Program.

Romanian Children's Relief is a 501c3 charity dedicated to supporting Romanian children and families in order to prevent abandonment.

Fundatia Inocenti is our Romanian partner Foundation.

We improve the lives of post-institutionalized children by providing them and their foster families with counseling, training, physical therapy, advocacy, equipment, home visits and monthly support groups.

We work with two hospitals, Rusescu Pediatric Hospital in Bucharest and the Bistrita County Hospital , to provide children with the psycho-social stimulation and early literacy activities needed for healthy child development. We also conduct nutrition and child care classes for parents to prevent abandonment. Finally, we seek donations of much needed medical equipment and we sponsor travel for medical treatment, as needed by the children.
