Fundatia Inocenti supports hospitalized children and their parents. In Bucharest , our partner is The Institute of Mother and Child, “Dr. Alfred Rusescu.” Our main beneficiaries are infants who spend the first months of their lives in the hospital alone. Our daily work with them is aimed at preventing the developmental delays that often result from a lack of stimulation, individual care and attention. Children who are hospitalized due to illness also benefit from our activities, and their mothers receive counseling by our psychologists and educators.

The charity event is aimed at raising money that will enable the Foundation to continue and expand its programs. Our main sponsor, Kentauros Media ( www.kentauros.ro ) has kindly donated one of its sound stages for the party, and the evening will include many activities and surprises. Michael Carroll, our Boston-based founder, is coming from the USA especially for the occasion. Michael and his work in Romania star in a new documentary to be released in Hollywood at the end of the year. We'll screen the film's trailer, which tells the fascinating story of how Michael became involved in the plight of Romania 's children.

We'll have a buffet dinner and dancing, together with some great entertainment. The famous Romanian singer Loredana Groza will give a guest performance, as will the Cortez Band, dancers from the Wilmark Academia de Baile Latino, and our very own Elvis impersonator, Tony Tecuceanu. All the performances are free of charge, donated by exceptional artists who support our work with the children.

No charity event can be complete without an auction and a raffle. World-famous tennis player Ilie Nastase, Andrei Pavel, and actor Horatiu Malaele have donated items, as have Albatross Travel, Caru' cu Bere, Anthony Frost English Bookshop and others. Place your bid – you may come home with your favorite item!

A donation of 300 Ron covers the cost of a ticket, and all donations are tax deductible.
